explore rochester feature
What can I say? I love Rochester! Steve Carter of Explore Rochester invited me to take over their Instagram feed for a week. I went with a "water" theme and shared some of my fave spots in Rochester, NY. By far my most popular post was one of my photos of High Falls - one of the most photographed spots in the city.
Woman to Watch interview
I was honored to be named a Woman to Watch by Democrat & Chronicle. "Megan Charland is doing what she loves: inspiring the community in visual arts." Thank you to Leah Shaw for the thoughtful interview.
I Heart ROC interview
I was interviewed by Emily Hessney of I Heart ROC for their Artists Heart ROC series. "Rochester artist Megan Charland encourages you to use all the resources and just go for it."
Along with the interview I also took over their Instagram account for a week and shared what I love most about Rochester, NY.
The Jealous Curator feature
Danielle Krysa featured some of my early work on her brilliant website The Jealous Curator.
remembering Nathan Lyons article
Rebecca Rafferty of City Newspaper asked me to share a memory of photography legend Nathan Lyons after his passing in 2016. I immediately thought of a story from graduate school at Visual Studies Workshop: "Nathan Lyons made me hate photography — and fall in love with it all over again."
